HOW A FALSE CONVERSION OCCURS

Because the spirit and the soul are not separate but  tightly knitted or braided  around each other as are  the ligaments, marrow and joints in our legs, it is difficult to discern the difference between the two.  The soul is easiest to recognize because the concerns and needs of “self” are generally apparent.  We recognize the “body” side of the soul because we can see the results through the activity of the natural frame.  We can see selfishness, ambition, competition, and jealousy  because the body,  through material and natural things, will engage in scenarios that expose self striving.

However, where we fall short is in our ability  to discern the soul from the spirit, which is also “flesh.” I am considering a gospel account of the words of the Lord when a funeral procession went by. He turned to his disciples and said, “let the dead bury the dead.”  How can the dead bury the dead? What Jesus was actually saying is “let the spiritually dead bury the physically dead.” Meaning: those who are alive in both the body and the soul have a dead spirit.  A dead spirit is one that is separated, alienated, and without God in the world.  That is a dead spirit.  It doesn’t mean that there is no awareness or activity in the spirit.

The spirit of the lost is very much alive in the kingdom of darkness, but he or she is alienated from the kingdom of heaven. It makes itself known through various nightmares and irrational fears.  When it is active, man’s dead spirit is open to the hellish dark world of spirits ruled over by the Prince of darkness. When it is both active AND powerful, the spirit is capable of a variety of supernatural feats including but not limited to clairvoyance, clairaudience and astral travel or out of body experiences.

When a lost or alienated person “accepts Jesus” as Lord and Savior, it can’t be the spirit who does so because the spirit  of that person is dead, alienated, and walking according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that works in those who are disobedient by the lust of their flesh.  In such a condition, the soul has to take over.  In the lost, the soul fulfills the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and the lost person has the nature of self consciousness.

So since a dead spirit cannot “accept God,” the soul takes over in its parts: mind, emotions and volition or will and says, “I accept Jesus as Lord and Savior” and begins a religious ritual that imitates intimacy and relationship. The working of the enemy through the mind or ideas of man quenches the work of the Holy Ghost to quicken that person’s spirit.  For the powers of darkness are keenly clever in working alongside of and simulating the born again experience.

When a person is REALLY born again, the soul takes a back seat.  The Holy Ghost “quickens” the spirit through repentance. As defined by Paul to the Ephesians, to quicken means to be made alive.  As Jesus Christ was raised from the dead physically or bodily, to be born again is to be raised from the dead spiritually. In other words, a dead spirit has been raised to becoming a vessel for the Holy Ghost.  Since the spirit does not have a will, volition is a choice or decision made by the soul.  What the spirit has is intuition. Paul revealed that the reason the spirit is raised from the dead is because “God is rich in mercy.” So the resurrection of the spirit begins in the intuition and then translated into  understanding  by the soul.

When the soul “accepts Jesus,” the spirit remains dead but with great acting skills, the soul can religiously  imitate the things of God. The fallen spirit of man, alienated and separated from God is sunk down into the soul so that the soul manifests as intellect or sensuality, often in both. In such cases, the soul reigns over both the spirit and the body. The way that the new life reaches the spirit is shown in the Lord’s own words: You must be born again.  The Holy Ghost “breathes” where ever He chooses. This is not the decision of man but the will of God.

The believer who has been raised from the dead in the spirit to newness of like is born of the Spirit or “born again.” The Holy Ghost, who takes up a dwelling place in the reborn spirit, has given the believer a revelation of the Cross and the Lord’s resurrection. This revelation is first received in the spirit. As James indicates in his letter, the wisdom that is from above—from the Holy Spirit—is pure, peaceable, gentle, merciful—without any element of the life of the soul—opinions, self views, strife-jealousy. So when a person is born again, the spirit imparts  understanding  to the soul through the mind, will and the emotions.

What is happening among those who claim that “they accepted Jesus,” is that they have done so through the soul and therefore, their spirits have remained dead.  The intellect of one whose spirit is dead is decidedly fallible and becomes the most dangerous of the soul’s gifts because God seekers use their minds to understand spiritual truths.  The scriptures reveal that the soulish man cannot receive the things of the Spirit, because they can only be spiritually discerned.

According to the late great Jessie Penn Lewis, “It is the soulish element in teachers and professors of holiness, which is often the cause of separation and disunion.  There may be, it is true, love in the heart to those who ‘differ,’ but the ‘differences’ divide nevertheless, because the demoniacal powers, able to work upon the soulish element in the believer, always emphasize or exaggerate the difference in “views of truth,” instead of magnifying the points of union, and even drive eager believers to ‘fight’ for their view of ‘truth,‘ under the name of ‘witnessing for God.” It is also the soulish element in Christians which insists upon the minute correspondence of others its ‘views of truth,’ and ‘tithe mint and anise and cumin’, in words whilst leaving ‘undone the weightier matters of the law’—which in the gospel dispensation of the Spirit between believers as the condition of their growth into ‘unity of the faith. ‘In brief, the soul-life, influenced by evil supernatural powers, is the main cause of divisions and separation among the professing, and even the true children of God.”

For this reason as pointed out by Sis. Jessie, the churches are filled with nominal worshippers of Christ, who show no marks of a true Christian life within them. In a nutshell, influences that bypass the spirit and only reach the soul may prepare the way by bringing the seeker within the reach of the truth which is read from the scriptures.  Outer strivings may make for a kind  self righteousness that  has a value and place in the world.  However, by virtue of these outer trappings, such seekers  will be fooled into believing that the strivings of the soul is evidence that he or she is born again.  Not so.  Since God views self righteous as filthy rags, the spirits of such seekers is untouched. Dead.  Alienated.  Without God.

Those whose souls imitate salvation are diversified.  Dynamic personalities   sway and move the emotions of others.  Their fruit—like TD Jakes for example—is to move the emotions of the soul.  The problem is that the faith of the hearers stands in the influence or wisdom of people like TD, and not in the power of God.  Intellectuals uses schemes to reach men and bring them to God, some preaching hell and damnation to frighten people to God, others using heaven, prosperity, gospelfests, social fellowship, networking  etc.

The outcome is that people are attracted to the fake Jesus, and not of Jesus Christ of Nazareth. What happens is a dangerous thing, so dangerous, that I will have to address it in more detail Part III. Suffice it to say for now, that people who are deceived into believing that they got born again, STILL have a dead spirit.  When dead, the spirit is susceptible to the evil side of the spirit world where psychic power is mistaken for the gifts of the Holy Ghost. Consequently, unsaved people are speaking in tongues, laying hands on others, imparting demons into vulnerable people.  Also, when people with dead spirits pray to the Father in the name of His Son, the one who answers their prayers is the imposter, the Fake Jesus.

Can a person whose spirit has been quickened STILL allow his or her soul to dominate?  Most decidedly YES. These are those who have a sensual relationship with Jesus.  When they speak of “being in His presence,” they are not satisfied unless they can feel the presence of God continually upon their flesh, and almost bi-polar in the spirit, they experience loads of ups and downs akin to spiritual mood swings.  They need to be taught how to walk by faith and not by sight or feeling.  Although the Holy Spirit dwells in their spirits, they often allow the soul to predominate because they do not understand the spirit life and the actions of the human spirit in co-action with God.

Born Again? Or Are You Following Sananda? By Pam Pastor Sheppard

Counterfeit Births, fake Jesus, godly sorrow, Resurrection, sinner's prayer, the cross

The Lord Jesus Christ of Nazareth asked an interesting question.  How many believers would He find on earth when He returns.. The rhetorical answer can be inferred to be  “not many.” Why?  Because of false conversions.

A false conversion occurs in the following instances:

1.  A person makes a decision to “accept” Jesus and then ends up boasting, “I am saved because I chose to follow Jesus.”  Often this person has repeated a sinner’s prayer or responded to a minister’s invitation to “walk forward” at the close of the sermon.  There is also no evidence of repentance.  Nor is their evidence  that the believer understood either the cross or the resurrection of Jesus Christ at the time of the alleged salvation experience.

2. A person assumes because his or her family are professing, churchgoing Christians, and since he or she has attended church from birth, that he or
she is “saved.”

3. A Charismatic/Pentecostal person has sought the Holy Ghost through the manifestation of the speaking in tongues.  Since the believer actually had a “tongue manifestation,” an assumption is made that the person is saved.

What I have uncovered through deliverance counseling, is this.

cover_the fake Jesus_new

When a counterfeit birth has taken place, the devil steps in, represented by a fallen angel who now calls himself “Jesus Sananda Immanuel.”  You can either obtain a copy of my book, “The Fake Jesus: Fallen Angels Among Us,” or google with Sananda’s name, and you will find that Sananda claims that he has infiltrated the entire organized church. Consequently, when prayers and worship are offered, it is Sananda, and not Jesus Christ of Nazareth who is unknowingly appealed to.  So in other words, the believer is actually practicing idolatry without realizing what has occurred and who he or she is worshiping.

If I were a betting person, I would put all of my savings on the expectation that 90% of the people who sincerely believe that they are born again fall in one of the three categories cited. Yet there is a fourth category. It includes those who have had supernatural experiences which included sin, the cross, godly sorrow with the bodily resurrection of the Lord either minimized, assumed, or not a part of the experience AT All.  This category adds another 5% to those who have had a false conversion.  The other 5 % were born again BEFORE they went to church, either in their homes, at an airport, etc.

256x256_fit_one_bestfit (69)My point is: THEY DID NOT BECOME BORN AGAIN INSIDE A CHURCH.  If they believe they did, then they are deceived.

How many of the people who have had a false conversion are of the elect of God?  I don’t know.  I suspect between 25-75%.  The rest are damned anyway because God did not choose them.

Examining whether or not YOU are in the faith is scriptural.  So check out II Cor 13:5.  If you want help with this very important task, fill out the contact form below.  Provide a detailed description of  the day you believe you got born again in the comment box.

Misunderstanding The Resurrection of Jesus Christ

Holy Spirit, Jesus Christ, Resurrection, salvation

Many modern-day churchgoers are confused as to the understanding of the resurrection of JESUS. Below, Pastor Pam Sheppard shares the reasons why, and explains why any false knowledge you do have, can block your salvation.  She makes clear why seeking the Father and/or the Holy Spirit without considering  Jesus, will even keep you from becoming Born Again:

By Pam Sheppard

I did not know very much about JESUS when I got born again on March 29, 1977 at 4 pm on a Monday. I knew nothing about either the Holy Spirit or the Father.

All I knew about JESUS is what I learned from movies. That He was crucified, died for my sins and that He was raised from the dead. I DID NOT BELIEVE IT. IN FACT, I REFUSED TO BELIEVE IT,

THE TRUTH IS THAT I did not understand what all of that meant. all I knew the day I passed from darkness to light, from death to life, from the worLD to the kingdom of God, is that everything I ever heard about Jesus was the truth.

You see, I thought He was a myth before I ever heard anyone else say that—a myth designed by the white man to keep my people weak and submissive. And I was having none of that.

So what my experience tells me is that you don’t need to know that much about Him, but if what you know is a misrepresentation, then your salvation is blocked. Also, if you sought the Father or the Holy Spirit, and JESUS was off on the sidelines somewhere, then you won’t be converted. Why? because JESUS is that part of the godhead that deals with sin. If Sin is not dealt with, then the father won’t deal with you and the Holy Spirit will not act and cause you to be born again.

So what you know about Jesus need not be a lot but it must be correct.

There are two reasons why church folk don’t understand the resurrection. The first reason is a scripture in I Corinthians 15  where Paul writes that Jesus was born a natural body and raised a spiritual body. They believe that a spiritual body is a spirit. They don’t understand that a spirit is no way a body.  The Lord revealed the difference in John 3 when He said “that which is flesh is flesh and that which is spirit is spirit.  A spiritual body is physical and material. It becomes spiritual because it can never die again.

The second reason is the preachers and the preaching. In 52 Sundays a year, You will not hear one sermon on the resurrection. Even Easter, the resurrection is spiritualized, described as a renewal, a restoration, a refreshing in one’s life. A dead relationship, an old job restored.

To be born again is a resurrection of the spirit. To be saved, you have to believe on the Lord’s physical resurrection in order  to receive a spiritual resurrection. why? Because the sinner’s spirit is dead in trespasses and sins, dark. Alienated from God..

what do you know about Jesus?

How I Overcame a False Conversion

To talk to you about what RESCUE has done and is doing for me, I have to speak about where I came from.  I’m not talking about my heritage per se, but my religious background.  We all have our stories and our journeys, but one thing rung true: God is the one who saves, not man.  God chooses when and under what circumstance to call people unto himself, man can do nothing to affect being born again.

It is common to hear of one growing up in church.  This was me.  Until my older years I “backslid” (these are in quotations because I considered if one can really slide back from God) and was doing almost everything a sinner would do.  I returned to the church system through a group called “Discipleship Group” which met weekly on Thursdays.  The purpose was for the pastor to disciple us, guide us in the way of truth.  One evening I was emotional and spoke to the pastor about what I was going through.  He decided to pray for me, and I prayed after him.  I remember telling God that I was sorry for the sins that I was doing and asking him to forgive me and come into my heart.  The next day I felt better, freer, it was a different kind of feeling.  I broke up with my live-in fiancée and just felt better.

People were proud of me for the conversion, and soon after I slid easily into different ministries prayer offering monthly, children’s church, choir, Friday meetings, Wednesday prayer meetings – everything that had to do with church activity, I was there.  However, like a poorly constructed house, my foundation was not solid.  I grew fruitless.  Actually, I grew fruit, but this fruit was of the prince of this world.  I knew this out of the things I felt against others in the church, I was jealous, angry, envious, very prideful, impatient, selfish all the sins of the flesh.  I had a soul tie with another in the church and it was a terrible thing to break, very painful for both.  I still attended church, still had communion because I thought I was “ok” with God and God was “ok” with me.  That was pride. Friendships ended, and relationships broke.  However, I still maintained that I was “born again” because in truth, all of the works I did, things I knew of the bible things I stopped doing in flesh were reasons why I was born again.  Although I could quote scripture to justify certain things or discussions, when one looked really close you could tell the fruit on the tree was worldly, and slowly others were beginning to see the fruit of the world in me – but only a few.

I met Pam through a friend of mine.  At the time of meeting Pam (or shortly thereafter) I left the organized church system.  The first or second meeting Pam went through the very essentials of salvation: Repentance, Rebirth and Resurrection.  I did not fully understand repentance and resurrection.  In fact, I gave very basic, textbook responses to repentance and rebirth, but when it came to resurrection, I had no real clue.  Pam knew that I had not been truly born again of God’s Holy Spirit, but I was afraid to accept that.  I was still very religious.  I still believed and held on to my working for salvation.

I know now that religiosity is not just the act of attending church buildings.  Some are there now that are truly born again and God would reveal himself to them to leave. It is almost like belief system that one has.  During the time with Pam, I was very much religious although having left the organized church the church (religiosity) was ingrained in me.  Religiosity was my belief system, although disguising it in the form of “godliness”.  But God knew that I was not of his flock.  During the time of officially leaving the organized church, I have had several false rebirths, where demons would either give Pam a feeling that my salvation was near and in one instance, she felt to speak in tongues.  In another instance demons would give me tingling sensations and good feelings, which I attributed to being born again.  But even the tingling feelings and sensations I came to understand are not of God.  On one occasion, I held a telephone session and toward the end of the session Pam simply asked me to call on the name of Jesus Christ.  But I found that I could not open my mouth to say with all my heart that Jesus Christ is Lord.  That was surprising to me, as I never would have thought much about religious demons or spirits would prevent a person from a simple act.  Of course, Pam spoke right to the demon with authority of Jesus Christ of Nazareth and commanded it out.

It took almost two years being in contact with Pam before God would save me.  During the two years I went through anguish, my flesh wanted to be born again – but wanted it for the wrong reasons.  I would cry out in anguish to be born again, but God did not hear me.

During the first year with Pam, I had a dream that stood out completely from everything else.  In the dream my surroundings was pitch black.  Not just in colour but in thickness also.  However, I could see me clearly.  I was alone and calling out to God, but God was not answering me.  He was not hearing me, yet I was calling and calling.  For the next few months I woke up every morning and went to bed every night with this heavy load on my shoulders – sin.  No matter what I did or said, I could not shake this load.  I went through many emotions, angry at God, angry at myself, angry at my friends/family.  I briefly went through a stage where I said well if I am a sinner then may as well be happy in my sin.  But I was not happy at all.  I was more miserable, and those “happy” times of things I did were just temporary and when those moments were over the load on my shoulders.  The kind of happy I needed was not a temporary thing.

Throughout this time Pam and I kept in contact, I was in counseling with her every month.  She was firm and direct, not the soft and pliable personality that I was used to.  But I realized over time that Pam was who I needed.  Someone who stood firm in the faith of Jesus Christ of Nazareth who was called of God to do what she does, and ready to rebuke and speak truth to things as they were.  Soon everything that I held on to for dear life fell off.

What I came to understand is that repentance is not turning away from the sins that I did, because let’s face it even people who aren’t born again can feel “sorry” for hurting someone and would turn away from doing that again.  So going back to the salvation experience I held on to and that Pastor and I praying, my belief then was that the types and amounts of sins that I considered sinful against God, was what I confessed to God.  Through my journey, I understood that sin was placed on me – those things that I did were symptoms of my sinful state.  I did try scrub myself clean by forcing myself to be emotional and cry and call out for God or vow to “do the right thing” but He knew better, and did not respond to those fleshly attempts.

What I worshipped before was another spirit, another Jesus.  Jesus said that we worship Him in Spirit and in Truth.  How could I have worshipped God before being unsaved and in the flesh?  Something else was receiving my praises and giving me good feelings, but it was not God.

Around Easter 2012, just before the holidays I was at work and felt a tingly feeling on my arms and neck and heard this song I used to sing while in the church called “God is an Awesome God”.  At first I wanted to praise and say Yes, I am saved!  But when the tingles continued I remembered what Pam taught, that those fleshly feelings are not of God.  So I refused to give in.  Some of you will think I was too presumptuous, that’s okay I don’t believe that God would save you through tingly feelings and a song.  The main thing that I needed was true repentance of godly sorrow an understanding and belief in the resurrection that Jesus Christ of Nazareth was in flesh like you and I, and died in flesh, and rose from death three days later still in flesh.  That can only happen by the power of God!  Yes, I know some happen these days that try to mock Jesus’ resurrection, but the power of God changed Jesus’ body after he ascended into heaven – a Glorified body that He will never die again!  He is the first to have a glorified body, and we will get those too when he return.  I had to understand rebirth, by the Holy Spirit that God puts into you.

On April 15, 2012 while at home doing homework, I began to feel upset.  Upset at the devil.  He deceived me into following him.  I followed him and worshipped “another spirit”, a fake Jesus calling that entity “lord”.  Deep down in my core I refused to worship the fake Jesus any longer.  I remember crying out to God in a sorrow that I had not felt before, thanking Him for Jesus Christ who died for this blotch that had been “me”.  Sin.  He died that even though I was following the fake Jesus, I the captive could be set free and be alive in Jesus Christ of Nazareth.  I knew that I knew of a different faith a saving faith, that God raised this Man, Jesus Christ from dead in flesh like I am in flesh and only because of this can I have life, and I knew that I knew that I knew that He lives and sits beside the Father.  He came to set the captives free.  I was captive and He came to set me free!!

I did not think often at why God chose that time to save me.  But in writing this post I now realize that: Salvation does not belong to man.  It belongs to God.  He chooses when or how or under what circumstance.  No amount of my crying out in flesh anguish or begging could budge what God had planned to show me.  This is the same for religious acts, no amount of serving in church or cleansing the outer body could affect being born again.  This is a “God” thing, though His Son Jesus Christ of Nazareth.   Since being born again, I’ve been in an online group called RESCUE.  RESCUE is a place that I could go to and speak about issues I was going through or things I didn’t understand and importantly learn the wiles and strategies of the enemy.  This group is not rigid and cold or religious, on the contrary it is warm, loving and open.  Recently, I realized that this group has been showing me how to be open to trusting and loving others in the Faith.  The walk in Truth is really never meant to be a stand-alone journey, Christ Jesus taught his disciples to really love one another with the love of God.  In the same way we strive to walk in truth, to love – and sometimes love means to correct and rebuke in Christ – and to keep ourselves until the day of Jesus Christ’s return.  RESCUE is a place of truth, and freedom.

Thank you Pam for the Truth you bring, for your love and strength in Jesus Christ of Nazareth.
